今月のキルト特集では、アーティストのパティ・コポック・バックリンによる、見るだけで楽しいキルトをご紹介します！

コッポック・バックリンは、よく孫のコリンとキラの絵からキルトのインスピレーションを得ます。サムとパムのキャラクターは数年前にコリンが描いた絵を元に、2021年にキルト化されました。そしてアリゾナ州フェニックスで開催された「キルトコン2022」で展示されました。
このキルトは2023年にモダンキルトギルドコレクションの一部として当館の所蔵品となりました。

Sam and Pam
For our Quilt of the Month, we are sharing this instantly fun quilt from artist Patti Coppock Bucklin!
This quilt depicts a pair of cartoon-like characters — Sam and Pam — fashioned out of a variety of printed fabrics. Each character features a scarf and long-sleeved shirt with uniquely styled plackets. The background behind the characters was made from an upcycled duvet cover found at a thrift store.
Coppock Bucklin often finds inspiration for her quilts in the drawings of her grandchildren, Collin and Kira. The Sam and Pam characters were originally drawn by Collin a few years prior, and then made into a quilt in 2021. The quilt was shown at Quiltcon 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona.
This quilt came to our collection in 2023 as part of the Modern Quilt Guild Collection.
